Who we are

Montana Mindfulness Institute was founded by Susan Curtis in 2015, catalyzed by her journey with ovarian cancer and the desire to live more fully in alignment with her true vocation. Susan is a physician, mindfulness teacher and life coach. Her 18 years of meditation experience have roots in the Zen and Vipassana traditions, in addition to her extensive mindfulness teacher training and certification through the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Susan’s has taught mindfulness classes in the medical setting as well as in the community.

As a physician, Susan has always placed emphasis on spiritual and emotional wellbeing. She has a strong desire to bring the healing benefits of mindfulness meditation into the medical setting in a way that is accessible to everyone. Teaching mindfulness is another way to meet people where they are and help catalyze the deepest kinds of transformation and healing. Despite the explosion of on-line courses and apps in the mindfulness arena, there is no substitute for the human connection made possible by an in-person class.
